I have WeatherBug installed on my computer. Every once in a while there will be an alert. When it went off just now I thought they were going to display that a storm was coming through. Instead I got what you see below. I already KNEW that! rofl It is August in Las Vegas after all. vbg Andy - Las Vegas

A Strong Area Of High Pressure Over The Area Will Contribute To High Temperatures Peaking Out Above Normal Today And Wednesday. Temperatures Will Be Around 111 Degrees In The Las Vegas Valley... 115 Degrees Along The Colorado River Valley And 123 Degrees At Death Valley.

It Appears There Will Be 3 Or 4 Successive Days With Temperatures Above Normal. Children... The Elderly... And People With Chronic Ailments Are Usually The First To Suffer From The Heat. Heat Exhaustion... Heat Cramps... Or In Extreme Cases... Heat Stroke May Result From Prolonged Exposure To These Conditions. Friends... Relatives... Or Neighbors Should Check On People At Risk.

Effects Can Be Minimized By Reducing Outdoor Activities... Drinking Plenty Of Water Or Non - Alcoholic Beverages... And Wearing Light - Colored Clothing.
