Beating Slots - 1970's style

I own Bally Mustang (1970) and Circus (1972) slot machines. These are noteworthy, as they allowed you to hold any of the 3 reels on the next spin! Imagine today, being able to hold an almost-jackpot, to spin only that last reel... There were two other Bally slots in this series, the Quick Draw (1966), and the Reel Deal (1968).

I'm wondering if any of you remember seeing an article from those days, detailing how a slot player could "beat" those machines? Some of you, have massive archives of old Casino stuff - I'm wondering if one of you actually has such an article? I'd be thrilled to read it, and will try to get you to sell it to me (or get me a good quality copy), so that it can be posted on the wall behind these machines...
