...further below that has a monkey playing cards with dogs and that sparked a story from my dad's Navy days.. (True story)

After the Korean war somewhere in the Philippines my dad, onboard ship had a pet monkey and a friend of his had a bulldog. Understand animals were strictly prohibited aboard ship and would be thrown overboard if discovered. Well, they were quite an attraction and soon became "everyone’s pets." The monkey would drink beer and hold a cigarette in its mouth with a hand of cards. The monkey would get bored and go tease the bulldog until the dog would get enough and go tearing after him. The monkey had a favorite brass rail that was just at the point the dog would be 'too close for comfort' and he would spring up and grab the rail with his tail and hang with his arms swinging just out of reach of the bulldog further tormenting the dog. After many times doing that my dad and the guys thought that was an unfair advantage for the monkey and decided to "educate the monkey in fair fight tactics". So they got some gun grease and greased the rail the next time they played cards and let the animals out. Sure enough before long the monkey got bored and spotted the sleeping bulldog.... and you can guess the rest. When the monkey hit the rail he didn't even slow down, next thing he was seeing was a real close up view BULLDOG. The dog almost killed that monkey. But the guys rescued the monkey in the nick of time, thinking this monkey will remember this and quit aggravating the bulldog. It worked! Well, for a time any way. Soon that monkey was back up to his old tricks but with a new twist. Every time he jumped for the rail he would grab the tip of his tail to make sure it would hold before swinging and tormenting the bulldog!

Both the monkey and the dog were later given to people in the Philippines (neither ended up in the Pacific!)
