As for moving the bases and troops currently stationed in Germany to new bases in Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Turkey, the stated justification (to better position troops for deployment to "likely hot spots" -- read that as the Middle East! ), IS militarily valid. Even if it wasn't the REAL reason.
