Report on Northern NV Casinos

I have not kept up with the Board religiously so all of this report may be repetitious but let me share a bit of info on some Northern NV casinos. The Gold Country in Elko, NV = not only is the Silver Strike machine gone but so are all of the Table games. Thus--all chips from Gold Country are obsolete. In downtown Elko, both the Stockmen's and the Commercial Hotel have been sold. After a fire the Commercial took out all Table Games. Their chips--the great White Bear for one--are all obsolete. The Stockmen's still has a Silver Strike machine and chips but the new owners take over on Sept. 1st and since it will be a totally new set of owners, the Strikes and Chips from the Stockmen's are probably on their last legs. The Lucky J's Casino in Wells, NV is now only slots. Their fine looking 'Truck' chips are now obsolete. In Wendover, the Red Garter still has its Silver Strikes but it too has been sold to the same new owner of the Stockmen's and Commercial. Sept. 1st is the date of transition so very likely the Red Garter Strikes and Chips are also on the verge of extinction. The State Line Nugget is changing the name to The Wendover Nugget. New chips have been ordered and should replace all State Line Nugget chips shortly. Another set of 'soon to be' obsolete chips. Sorry to be so long. Doug
