Scanner Fun W/Chips N Stuff...

...Dang, nice to get ONE day off! Hope the rest of the guys at the job get back from vacation in good order. mad Didn't have to get in the ol' Pete after 13 days in a row, but there's work tomorrow. So after wandering around the house, napping, reading some of Positively 5th Street and polishing off the rest of the Bailey's, I took a stab at doing justice to the great matchbook I got off eBay from Mark E.

Doug Saito had a writeup on this joint and made no claims that the chips were ever used in gaming. He showed some examples with the same mold but 25¢, 50¢, and $1.50 hotstamps that bear the additional legend,"in trade". He calls the hotstamps rare but they're nowhere near as good looking as the scalloped inlaid 50¢, $1, $1.50, $25, and $100 chips. Doug dates them to the '50's.

Hope you like this scan, it got that Big Loser off the stage...which is HARD to do! vbg
