An interesting manufacturing blemish, CHIPCO...

Take a look at these two Arizona Charlie's $5 CHIPCOs. The one on the left is fine, although it shows a little wear at the edge. When new, this chip has a fine black line around the red.

The chip on the right has a blemish, that I can only describe as being made by another chip that got pressed into this chip while the ceramic material was somewhat pliable and after the transfer printing process was completed.

This chip is heavily worn, except inside the cresent shape, which is an indentation. The surrounding, higher surface, has protected the printing in the indentation from getting worn. Just look at Charlie's face, his hat and hair inside and outside the indentation.

The larger arc of the cresent shape matches the edge of a chip. I pulled this chip off a blackjack table. Dare I call it an error? vbg
