There has been eariler articles published in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas Sun and Press of Atlantic City that speculated the new Harrah's-Caesars company would be forced by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission to dump one or more casinos to satisfy regulators.

My personal opinion but the new combined company will probably dump the Showboat and the Atlantic City Hilton. Now let me elborate why, Over the past couple of years Caesars Entertainment has been systematically dumping properties with the Hilton name, The Flamingo Hilton properties in Las Vegas and Laughlin became just the Flamingo and the Reno and Kansas City, MO properties were sold off and for the last 10 years Caesars has been trying to sell the Las Vegas Hilton which each deal kept falling through and only now did the Las Vegas Hilton finally get sold to the owners of Resorts in Atlantic City and they are still looking for a buyer for the Reno Hilton so it would seem that Caesars has no interest in being affiliated or work with the Hilton Corporation and as far as the Showboat, when Harrah's acquired it from Showboat Corporation it sold the Las Vegas Property to VSS Enterprises which change the name to Castaways and the East Chicago, Indiana property was closed and renamed using the Harrah's brand name so it is painfully obvious that Harrah's is no longer interested in maintaining the Showboat brand name.
