Those are newer pictures of a very old locomotive. I used to work in the room where the original photos of all of the Milwaukee Road rolling stock were stored - including boxes of 8 x 10 negatives. Just the photos in albums took up a wall 20 feet long. The photos included the original builders photos of everything purchased and lots of stuff for cars produced on site. They closed the Milwaukee repair shops around 1982 and I heard that after cataloging everything they finally decided to throw it all away.

Anyway back to your pictures. If it had been a very old picture the logo would have read Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railway. I have what may be the only remaining original decal with that logo on it. It is about the only thing I still have left from my 8 years of working there.
