I hope this strikes you as a reasonable answer. My definition of rare is probably a little loose here, but please hear me out.

One; these chips are not being manufactured for anyone else, and the lot that I purchased is relatively small in quantity. I may not elect to replicate them, but move on to another design. Possibly the New York will be replaced with a series of cities where we are developing groups of RCC Members. Or maybe the line of RCC chips will be stopped altogether.

Two; new coin inlay chips being available in the USA is somewhat of a rare comodity for sure - certainly that seems to be changing though.

Three; though they are technically a Fantasy Casino chip, they represent and honor real card clubs from the past, which is something of a rarity. My father "Dale", my Uncle Don and their friends were involved with the creation of these card clubs (NY and Toronto anyhow) and these chips represent some rare and charished memories for me.

I hope this seems like reasonable rationale for defining them as rare. I imagine that someday these chips will have value, beyond that of the current price. To me, my set is already priceless.
