Jim,

Most scanning programshave the abiility to reduce the output size when either saving or sending to another program.

IF by chance yours doesn't, then any of the gazillion phot editting programs will do it for you.

I use Adobe Home Photoshop. It was free and works fabulous. Its very easy to use and it very useful in both reducing the overall size of the scan as well as cropping. You can eliminate flaws and remove items, etc. I used Adobe Home Photoshop on all of the scans that i posted of the convention. I both cropped the pictures as well as made the size smaller. Most of the scans started out around 1,400 k. On some, I removed erroneous objects from the backround that I found distracting.

This way, I was able to crop out Ralph Myers from almost all of my pictures rofl

I did a quick search of the adobe website and didnt see "home photoshop listed, but I did see the free software called "Adobe Photoshop Album" It may be that they have moved it along and this is the same basic thing but in a newer form. It looks like it does about everything the other does, so I'd give it a try.

If you need, I can send you a cd copy of my freeware "adobe home photshop" in the mail.

Unless you really want to get into bigtime fancy (and complicated) editing, I'd recommend using freeware and smaller editing programs.
