One for Jim Munding..The 3985 and a Rainy Day

Here is a shot of Union Pacific's 3985 Steam Locomotive enroute to the Super Bowl on January 24, 2004 in Texarkana, TX. Credit Joe Walthall for the picture.

The 3985 is part of Union Pacific's Heritage Fleet of Vintage Locomotives and Passenger Cars maintained to the nth degree.

The 3985 Challenger locomotive is the only steam locomotive in the United States that has never been retired from the active locomotive roster. She is lovingly maintained by Steve Lee and the Steam Crew in Cheyenne Wyoming.

The 3985 is trotted out a few times a year for excursions with a long line of the beautiful vintage passenger cars in tow. Truly a sight to behold and hear.
