Here is a link to story about the latest problems for this poor star crossed casino. They just can't seem to get this operation off the ground. They first tried opening it in a big "tent" but the only access was via a narrow private road the neighbors refused to allow any improvements. The location is great - right beside US 50 - the main road to South Lake Tahoe but the lack of access has killed it. They have been in talks with the State to put in a special off ramp - at their expense - that would go directly to the casino - not sure what the status of that is but the neighbors are fighting it. According to the article they want to rename the casino to "Foothill Oaks Casino" and start over from scratch. I'm guessing the Crystal Mountain chips will be discontinued - and I don't have one.
