The Real Issue with Slabbing ....

.. is the third party grading and the percieved value one or two points make. If you want independant grading the kid down the street will be happy to do that for you for a couple of bucks, nevermind that yours id the first chip he's ever seen. Oh, and that COA, for another buck he'll write one of those too.

My point in the post was that slabbing and the percieved grade has caused this coin to be valued at 40x face. I feel certain this coin came from a proof set containing all 5 coins for this year at a cost of around what this ONE coin is going for. Why did this coin 'suddenly' go up in value when it got slabbed? Wasn't it the SAME coin prior to slabbing? We don't want hyper-grading and inflated values in chips. See what it has done to coins...
