One new tidbit of information: Today, I learned that the owner of the Bell Cigar Store in Omaha was Fred S. Weyerman according to the 1954 city directory.

We also know:

....Howdy Herz revealed that the Mason company records showed these chips being made for Bell Cigar Store, 109 S. 15th St., Omaha, Nebraska in 1953.

....The 1954 Omaha City Directory lists the following citation : "C & C Bar (Jerry Collins Jos S Cap jr) 2923 Spaulding." An almost identical citation appears in the 1955 directory. These were the only citations beginning with, "C & C."

So, I'm guessing that Fred Weyerman didn't order the chips for himself, but perhaps for the C&C Bar owners. Just my speculation.
