Spam filter problem mad & WARNING ...

... about SBC Yahoo's email service. As a result of a follow up inquiry from a correspondent who was wondering why I had not replied to an email, I recently began checking the "bulk mail" folder of my SBC Yahoo email service (into which Yahoo supposedly places "spam" from addresses which I have specifically identified).

During the past few weeks, I have found two or three emails PER DAY which are NOT SPAM and which should not have been sidetracked into the "bulk mail" folder. Among these have been some from chippers (including Andy Hughes, Archie Black, Mike Skelton & Pete Sanders), as well as some eBay sellers, one of my children, several of my West Point classmates, BoDog (online bookie! vbg ), my telephone and water service bills, and other miscellaneous correspondents.

I have been checking this folder only the last few weeks -- prior to that, I simply allowed Yahoo to empty the folder whenever I logged out. Based on the number of "real" emails which I have recently found in the "bulk mail" folder, I suspect that this has been going on for some time and that I have lost any number of emails that I would like to have seen.

So, my WARNING is, if you have Yahoo email and use the spam filter, you might want to check and make sure the same thing isn't happening to you.

And, if you have written to me in the past 6 months or so without an expected response, please let me know and/or resend your message as it may well be that it never got to me.
