even though he was the high bidder at the time, it was not in a full increment (in this case 50 cents) above the second lowest bidder. So when he put in his "back-up" bid, it raised the bid amount to the full 50 cent increment above the other guys bid. In instances where your current bid is several dollars above the next highest bid and then you put in a back-up bid, the bid doesn't change your already high bid. Makes sense to me...sorry if I don't explain it well!! grin Steve B
