Here's a repeat of a warning you may have heard before. Mindplay makes some ugly chips that bleed red. More than one collector has found their companion white $1 MP chips will turn pink when stacked with red $5 MindPlay chips. Mindplay is a system that utilizes cameras and card readers that casinos can use to umm, monitor play at blackjack tables.

I've been very, very careful about storing these poxy things. But I was really surprised with what I found a few moments ago. Scattered about on my desk are a couple of hundred chips in stacks, flips, airtites, and racks, and drink glasses, bags...jeez, whatta mess! Take a look at this scan of the bottom of this chip tube where this nasty Eldo nickel was stored! That's over 1/8" of plastic that the color has traveled, wow! Luckily, I had taked precautions and had it at the bottom of the tube with a maroon '20's USPC chip but the rest of the tube contained all sorts of chips that I surely wouldn't want contaminated.

So, if you've got a moment or two this weekend, track down these crummy chips if you have any and put 'em in quarentine...or send them to a coin slabber!
