I HAD A DISAPPOINTMENT sad

when a wonderful old chip (FLAMINGO, N1609 "S") I put up on the board three weeks ago brought an immediate bid, only to have the bidder apparently renigue. The chip was consigned and I reported the "sale" to him. The bidder is one of our board regulars and I do not understand his conduct. I have consulted club members and received differing advice as to what to do. Each said that the bidder had every right to change his mind. Technically when an offer is made and accepted that creates a binding contract. However, I have no problem releasing him from his offer. The problem was that he never replied to my repeated posts, even though he has posted here since then. I have determined not to bring the matter to the CC>CC even though the offending person is a club member. Instead I shall eat my loss and put the chip up for re-sale. Shame, since I will donate my 25% fee to the Building Fund.

Here's a scan of the chip. I will post a re-offer.
