HELP FEED HUNGRY KIDS AUCTION

HELP FEED HUNGRY KIDS AUCTION

What the heck is going on here? This is easy to explain, but first please click on the MR. BIG SHOT link below and read my post of a few days ago.

Here’s the story. There are kids in this country that don’t have enough to eat. I won’t stand for this. There are a lot of issues I’m passionate about. This issue cuts through my heart right down to my soul. I have so much, and there are little kids in country that are hungry. Have you ever been hungry? I’m not talking about, “Hmmm, I need a snack, should I have chips or a cookie?” I’m talking about being hungry because you had oatmeal for dinner last night and you won’t eat again until tonight because the only food in the house is a bag of oatmeal. Believe me, not much else in this life is worse.

There’s an organization in Manchester, NH called the New Hampshire Food Bank. What do they do? In a nutshell; THEY FEED HUNGRY LITTLE KIDS! They distribute food directly to families in need, and to various charity pantries, soup kitchens, etc. in the area. I’ve tried to think of a more honorable mission, but I can’t come up with anything. They need a lot of help. Jenny & I do what we can.

So… what I plan to do is this. I’m going to run a quarterly auction on The Chip Board. All proceeds, every penny, will be donated to the New Hampshire Food Bank. I intend to run between three and six lots for each auction. I promise all lots will be casino or gambling related and there will be no junk auctioned.

The auction rules are simple. Each lot is on the block as an absolute auction. The minimum bid is $1.00 (one dollar). The bidding increment is $1.00 (one dollar). Please email your bids to me, and identify each bid by lot number. If you would prefer to remain anonymous please advise me in your email. I will try to post a daily update with the high bid amount and the name of the high bidder. You will pay only what you bid. I will pay all mailing, packing, & insurance costs. All chips will be sent in an air-tight holder. (If someone would send me a handful of air-tights I would appreciate it. I’ll reimburse you for the postage and the cost of the air-tights.) The auction will run seven days. Winning bidders will be notified by email. Payment via personal check is appreciated. When the auction is over, payments have been received, and lots sent, I’ll cash the checks and purchase a USPS money order for the total auction proceeds. I’ll make the money order payable to the NH Food Bank and post a scan of it here. Just want to show that this whole idea is on the level.

I know it’s close to Convention time and many of you are being conservative with your budgets. Maybe this isn’t the right time to start something like this, but I’m on a roll. grin I’m going to start with three lots. I’ll spend the summer looking for some more stuff, and try this again sometime in August or early September.

Thanks for reading this, and thanks in advance for helping. USA

A $1 casino chip from Resorts, Atlantic City. Black’s Number RES-1. Per the Official C C & G T C C, Inc. Grading Standards this chip is in SLIGHTLY USED condition. I recently found 8 of these chips. Conditions range from Poor to Slightly Used. Only two chips were in this great condition.

LOT #2

A $1 casino chip and an ashtray from the Boardwalk Regency, Atlantic City. Black’s Number BOA-1a. Per the Official C C & G T C C, Inc. Grading Standards this chip is in AVERAGE condition. It appears to me that this chip has been cleaned. The tray is very good condition with only slight wear to the painted logo and a small “bump” (manufacturing defect) on one of the cigarette rests. The curved scratch that appears in the photo is on the glass, not on the paint. No chips or cracks.

LOT #3

A square edge Crest & Seal chip, c. 1934, from B.P.O.E #674, Pocatello, Idaho. Per the Official C C & G T C C, Inc. Grading Standards this chip is in NEW condition.
