Todays selection reminds me of the movie 'Gorillas in the Mist'. It is the back of a 1991 issue 50,000 Zaïres note from Zaïre (formerly the Congo Democratic Republic) displaying the silverback gorilla and its family in the jungle. Zaïre is located in the heart of Africa landlocked by the Congo, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Sudan. It is VERY mineral rich producing copper, tin, diamonds, gold, cobalt, zinc, and uranium. This is where the pygmies (Negritos) lived and were pushed into the mountains. The note was printed by Giesecke & Devrient of Germany. Enjoy!
