February vegas trip
Hi Steve,My husband and I just came back from a short trip to Vegas. We do
the 4-day charter once or twice a year.While we usually stay at the Rio, this
time we tried the Riveria. Never Again! It's a very old hotel and she's
showing her age. When you check in, you have to sign a waiver agreeing NOT to
bring any outside food or beverage into your room. If they catch you doing this,
they can fine you $200 a day! Ouch. There are no refrigerators, coffee
makers, or hair dryers in the room. I guess you get what you pay for. Next time
we plan to stay at the Aladdin.Our maid did spread a little gossip to me. She
said Donald Trump had purchased the Riveria about 2 weeks ago. Is this true?
I did just read that he had gotten his gaming license approved.My husband
enjoys gambling so he played blackjack downtown. He played a long time but
didn't come out ahead.We had a fabulous meal at the Delmonico Steak House at the
Venetian. Billy was our host and made the evening very special. We will be
back. We also had a fine dining experience at Elements located in the Aladdin
except that it wasn't so fine. Poor service, noisy room and not top shelf
food. Don't waste your money going there.The Indigo Lounge at Bally's is fun
because the entertainment is great and it's free! We had the opportunity to see
Art Vargas there. He is a great singer - we even bought his CD.For anyone who
has not discovered valet parking - start doing it now. No more shlepping
through parking ramps when your loaded down with luggage or shopping bags. We met
a couple from California last year who tipped us to valet parking. Best
