It was the same way when I was there. I didnt buy a timeshare, but quite a few people that were staying at my resort did. Of course, for each couple, it was their first time going tropical. As for me, I'd never buy a timeshare. I enjoy the adventure of going someplace different each time.

I highly recommend taking advantage of the timeshare free offers. Those are where they give you freebee's for listening to the hard pitch. I chose one that agreed to give me the details over lunch. I listened and ate at a beatiful resort. Then I got two tickets for the the booze cruise AND two tickets for the 4 wheel ATV trip. Each was a $45.00 value. So...not only did we get a nice lunch, but we got 180.00 worth of excursions. We actually enjoyed seeing the resort and rooms. The whole thing took around one hour. It's easy to turn them down. I'd just tell them "I'd sure love to buy the time share, but I've only had my job for 3 weeks, and it'll probably take me a couple years til Im allowed to get any credit after my bancruptcy. Works every time!
