Here's the problem as I see it. Fay is convinced the chip is somehow rare, when it's common and the whole rack was sold. #0001 might be of moderate interest and I even find it difficult to accept the $30 value for these chips.

Radar numbers on a bank note is unusual because it's 8 digits. That means not many are made, or possible. But with only four numbers, there are many, many more. Also not rare at all.

If someone offered $1000 for the $1000 obsolete chip, they would either be uninformed or plain foolish. Selling the chip for that price would be unethical.

Fay doesn't want to accept the truth, just like many other people who think somehow their collectibles are worth more than everyone elses, because They Are Selling it!

If there are only 500 of these chips out in circulation, I'd put the value of them more like something under $10 each and the #0001 might bring a small premium. The demand from collectors is minimal.

If there's any evidence to the contrary, please correct me.

(Evidence, proof, information. Not some argument based on dollar bills or something else unrelated to casino chips.)
