To All Concerned:
In Response To: Re: Elmhurst CHIP show ()

Tables for the Windy City Chip Show were PURCHASED by dealers/collectors to display their wares. The promoters' ads stated "Buy! Sell! Trade!"--the common sense reasoning there would be with dealers. The ad did not state that there would be a table provided for patrons to do the same. If I understood correctly, the table you referred to was there for any last minute dealer/collector who desired to purchase the table and participate in the show. Usually local clubs (old chapters) hookup with promoters to have a meeting and swap session in a separate room or area. I PURCHASED a table at the show and I would have been upset if the promoters had provided a table on the bourse floor for patrons to buy, sell or trade amongst themselves.

I observed the "trading" session going on at that table which was directly across from the table that I PURCHASED. If I would have seen "selling" going on there I would have immediately complained to the show promoters. No one was prohibited from swapping, trading, or selling in the hotel lobby lounge area, which, by the way, is where it was done during ALL of the past Windy City Chip Shows.
