Back From Vegas

Great time last week in Vegas. Arrived Tuesday around 2:00 PM. Drove out to Sams Town for my first ever visit there. Really good experience all around. Sam's was a very friendly place to play. Dealers and staff were all polite and cheerful. Won at the craps table then at roulette. Had a drink at the cool little bar by the waterfalls. Sure was a great way to start our trip. Was in Vegas for a six day business trip with my partners Ron and Mark.

Spent one night at the Barbary Coast, then four more nights at the Venetian. Wow! The Venetian is now my hotel of choice. Great food, great gaming, very friendly, surrounded by beauty and elegence.

Went downtown to visit Binion's and Mainstreet Station. DO NOT EAT AT THE MAINSTREET BUFFET!!!

Less of course you want to. I don't, not anymore. Bad really does not cover it. Try worst buffet I can remember ever having to pay for.

Played single zero roulette at the Stratosphere, also single zero roulette at the Venetian. Played craps at Harrah's as well as Bellagio, Casino Royale ( sorry for using the names of those two casinos in the same sentence).

Played more roulette and craps at The Orleans.

The best part of the trip was going over to the Palms and taking a 3/6 holdem lesson from Sandi.
She was great, and has me well prepared for our convention Poker Challenge.

On the way back to the airport Sunday, we stopped back at Sams Town for one final hour of games. 30 minutes at craps and I broke even. Then I decided to spend the last 30 minutes at the roulette table. Never played 50 cent roulette before, $1 was the least I had ever played. Go figure..I hit all of my numbers. Just sorry I didn't play with $1 chips. Won $244 in those 30 minutes ( about 10 spins of the wheel. First two numbers to come up were 00 and then 00 again. That is a number I never play, so I figured I was in for a beating. Then I began hitting on numbers where I had at least two chips, and in some cases five six or seven chips.

Bottom line is we had a great trip. Won some lost some, played a lot, and played plenty of poker between the Palms poker room and the poker room at the Mirage.

Also got to meet Gerald and Janice O'niell. That was a treat. Thanks for inviting us for a drink, hope to see you a the show in June
