Wisconsin Road Trip / Update

I suppose it was Easter Vacation or maybe two whole days off, right together? grin

We stayed at Menominee Casino in Keshena. Actually my first time there. Very nice, the rooms were great, indoor pool and whirlpool. It's Northern Wisconsin, where you might need an indoor pool in July to avoid the flurries. vbg (more about that later)

Casinos visited: North Star, Bowler; Menominee, Keshena; Mole Lake Casino, Mole Lake; Northern Lights, Carter.

I'll post some more details in replies, so it doesn't clog up TCB with messages, and they thread off this note.

Short version:

North Star, nothing new. Using starbusrt mold NCV chips on roulette table. No dice for sale. The first issue chips didn't seem to be common on the tables (I didn't see any) and the current Chipcos are getting worn around the rims. I asked about old chips and the cage manager said, "we destroyed them a long time ago."

Mole Lake: We happened to hit an Easter Egg Hunt for players. What a jam packed place. Played Free Craps, real table coming in a couple of weeks. No roulette. No players club. Chips mixed between the two supplies of frosted/faded and the second of the same designs. (I didn't get any chips from here because there seems to be no demand for them)

Northern Lights: Roulette, Craps, no dice for sale. I tried to walk with on roulete and didn't make it two steps out of the lobby... BUSTED. The security people, the pit boss (while I was begging for just the one little chip) and the overall floor manager, were all very understanding, but the answer was "a roulette chip is not going to leave this casino". Old chips destroyed.

The Manager did offer to sell me a new $500 chip if I wanted to take something home. grin BTW there is a new $500 there, pinkish Bud Jones, or at least a CIC. So for those who collect images, here's one that Greg needs. I didn't have $500 with me to borrow one.

Menominee: the new $1 without the 1991 was on the tables, other chips still showed the 1991 and some looked like new. Roulette, nice Paulson "roulette" mold with inlay. No dice for sale "we don't have a policy on that yet."

It seems like people open and close business in the area, depending on how they feel. The go cart track closed early Friday and wasn't open on Sunday. Flea market had a sign, back next week. Antique shops along the road were closed on Friday (Good Friday) had closed signs on Saturday, and were dark on Sunday.

There it is, the basic "stuff"

Recap: Mole Lake, no change, craps coming. North Star, Craps, using generic NCV on roulette table. Northern Lights, roulette, Craps, new $500 Bud Jones. Menominee Nation Casino, $1 date 1991 removed, roulette, craps.

Miles: about 500
