Kerry - Re: Worst bet you've ever made

Kerry,

Yes, no doubt. But, either way it goes, the reservation phones still light up.

1. If he wins, the "I can do that's" will come.

2. If he loses, the "I'll show him how it's done's" will come.

3. Either way, the Hard Rock paves the way for future "large" bets. Benny's philosophy, and it worked.

4. Just the mention of such an event has probably prompted garage sales around the country. Young people selling their junk in anticipation of doing the same, at the Hard Rock.

So,

Will this guy be betting his life savings on an idle wheel that's been covered / out of play or will he be given the opportunity to observe a wheel in action along with it's spins. Increasing his chances by jumping in after a "one color" run, hoping the next is the opposite?

For the life of me I can't imagine why this "so called gambler" is picking a black/red bet on roulette. It's an uncontrollable bet unless you have all day to examine the spins, with the opportunity of jumping in & out at your discretion. Even then the odds remain the same, because there's no "real" track record of play. Other than what you've observed prior. The game / wheel resets itself (so to speak) after each spin.

I'd feel more comfortable doing this on a 21 table rather than roulette. The uncontrollable bounce of the ball is just that. But at least on 21 (fresh shuffle or not) you're still afforded the opportunity of second guessing the hole card, thus hitting or standing.
Much better odds on a "one hand" compared to a "one spin" bet.

The only advantage to the roulette bet, is that the uncontrollable environment of not being able to screw up the outcome with a wrong decision making opportunity. This can actually work in someone's favor. Where as in 21 when a person is forced to decide his fate with skewed thinking, skewing worse the heavier the bet is.

"Banker" bet - not really absolute best bet.
