Mike,
Your feelings are not much different than what mainstream americans are feeling. Being a retired Marine, it saddens me to see the quagmire that our troops are facing in Irag. It angers me that we have witnessed the last two administrations fail miserably in handling the terrorist attacks on our citizens and sovereign property. Regardless of one's political leanings, we should not support any administration that goes hell bent into a situation without thoroughly thinking through the problem and having a prepared contingency plan for any anything that goes wrong. Two things are certain.

• We should not have gone into Irag without first getting Bin Laden. Only a fool fights a war on two fronts.
• We can not be the policemen of the world with a standing army smaller than North Korea. If we continue our present foreign policy, the draft will have to be reintstated.

  It would be wonderful if we could ignore what is happening and stay in our happy world of chipping, but alas, that is not possible for any of us that have family or friends in harms way or that care enough not to remain silent.
