Chip destruction plan must be approved by gaming.
Once destroyed how could they be presented for redemption?
Cage float would be adjusted to reflect destroyed chip totals.

That said:
About 3 years ago I know of one instance where destroyed $1,000 chips were presented for redemption after the chips were destroyed.
Needless to say, someone went to jail.
