Gambling can be very cheap entertainment if you do it right. Knowing how to play (CORRECTLY) BJ, craps or video poker means you can visit sin city and not come away a big loser. I enjoy playing at minimum stakes tables, having nice conversations, free drinks, meal comps and occasionally getting a big run. In 30 years of gambling I almost never come back more than plus or minus $200 for the trip and that includes valet and drink tips. Normally I win some at BJ, and then go play some fun games like Let it ride, craps or roulette. Let it ride has a high house take, craps is very streaky and roulette is a slow but steady loser. Most people don't like to play like I do since they want the "Big Win". I am just happy to be there having fun. BTW - if you are looking for a fun game where it is really hard to lose a lot try Pai Gow poker. You can sit at one of those tables for hours and stay break even with a little luck.
