Maunaloa Casino Matchbook

Who would have guessed that Maunaloa Casino is in the Atlantic? Sounds Hawaiian to me, but of course there aren't any HI casinos. Inside there's a rubber stamp that says:

"Maunaloa Night Club
Casino
Lo mas fino y distinguido del pais"

The free translation on the web doesn't help much. Anybody know what they are saying?

Here's a clip from a web site regarding Dominican Republic casinos. Apparently this is an old casino, predating the government's setting up a gaming commission in 1968.

GAMING INFORMATION: Gaming in the Dominican Republic is controlled by a Gaming Commission established in 1968.All four members are cabinet secretaries. Its chairman is the Secretary of Finance. The others are secretaries of the Internal Revenue, Interior and Tourism Department.
All casinos must be in four or five star hotels with the exception of the Maunaloa Nightclub & Casino in Santo Domingo which existed before 1968.All offer a full complement of table games including blackjack, craps and roulette.

By the way, The Gaming Table has this listed as Mauna Loa (2 words). Unless that used to be the name, you might want up correct this, Allan.

Anybody have a chip from this place?
