No Craps Tables At Harolds Club!

Nope, there were never any craps tables at Harolds Club...at least while Pappy was there. He couldn't abide the term so Harolds only had "Dice" games. Even though Raymond I. "Pappy" Smith was a teetotaler, he was the manager of the bars at Harolds Club. In the beginnings of the club when Harold realized that gamblers were going out the back to the Palace Club and Bank Club or elsewhere for a drink, he convinced Pappy to back down from his edict that the club be dry. Pappy, however, did provide something for the dealers to drink in their break room, a concoction of brown sugar, vinegar and who knows what that Pappy touted as a health aid and cure-all!

I don't think Vincent Price's character had any such sensibilities about saying craps, do you? grin This is my other favorite Las Vegas movie and if it ever comes on TV, I'll post an alert and why you should see this movie!
