TURNING STONE
In Response To: Re: New York Question ()

Very nice resort; good card room with small and high stakes poker (big hold'em games on Fridays); type II "slots"--which are the electronic pull tab variety. Wide variety of table games ranging from craps, black jack (with 1 deck available), roulette, Caribbean Stud and Let it Ride (and they may have added some more as I have not been back since November). We don't eat there as you cannot order beer or wine, much less liquor. However, the casino is considering having booze available in its restuarants. A couple of very good golf courses. Rooms are not cheap. N.Y. has approved racinos with real video slots and vid poker but the nearest ones open are in Saratoga and west at Finger Lakes. Vernon Downs which is a few miles from Turning Stone would have been open this spring with a racino but has run into licensing problems.
