Probably many other solvents.thinners work too. The rubber cement thinner can be gotten at stationery stores. it works well getting the scotch tape off of paper (but not labels that you wet and which dry stuck to the paper). When you use it to get the tape off of paper, the paper suddenly turns dark brown, but not to worry -- it soons drys up and looks like before.
