Duh ... should have read further down ...

... before posting this, as Gene answered that question already.

Based on what Gene said, the statement that "most of the chips were destroyed by gaming" is patently false. Therefore, IMO, the contract to purchase the chip is void and Pam need not fulfill it.

Caveat -- there may still be eBay consequences (negative feedback).
