Re: Free Removal Tool

Your "argument" is incomplete - you have to pay for a subscription after a year; I never do.

Listen I'm glad you love Norton - but go out to CNET.Com and see the product reviews - it's toasted a lot of machines. 68% of the users gave it a big thumbs down! Pretty sad customer satisfaction rating under any circumstances, so it's just not my opinion - it's a majority opinion.

They outsourced tech "support" (if you could call it that) to India and that is a real joke if you have a problem.

Now for Joe average, maybe Norton's OK. I found it slowed my PC down substantially and hosed up my advanced settings and software. It whacked out IIS and it plain wouldn't start. Norton was the culprit.

I wouldn't put Norton on my machine if they sent it over in a Limo with a complimentary call girl.

As far as I'm concerned, Norton is garbage. As one review put it:

"Easiest to use, but isn't that the same reason so many Americans continue to torture themselves with AOL!?!"

Software that Peter Norton would be ashamed to have his name on, had he not sold the rights to Symantec.

Have at it - free and good is much better than free and garbage. Do as you like - it's your machine.

Sonny (AKA Mark Sutton #6337)

P.S. - Buy a chip clock with that rebate money!!
