I've reread the article more closely Pete and it is pretty evenhanded. Don't have any paranoia about tagged chips or surveilance myself but I just think the primary concern of the casinos isn't tracking players to reward them, but to prevent theft and foil card counting 21 players. Recall the TV shows that have the breathless scenes where the Griffen Agency operative careens down the strip keying his laptop on the car dash because someone bet a green chip over a client casino. I wonder also if it's not possible that the chip makers are interested in selling the casinos a whole system rather than just chips? RFID chips, plus tag readers, software and various other beeping blinking gizmos that will bring in more than an order of UV marked chips.
