Somehow the cards, or dice, or the roulette ball, or the slot/video machine, or whatever, know when a beginner is playing. Beginner's luck? Luck has nothing to do with it. The cards conspire to make the beginner a winner, even though the beginner has know idea of what they are doing. Why, you ask? It is to hook the beginner into a lifetime of playing and losing. The beginner will reason that if I won and I had no idea what I was doing, let me really learn the game and make some big bucks. The cards quietly laugh to themselves. Another one bites the dust.
