I always go to the snackbar for black-eyed peas on New Years day. This year, two of my sisters were in town with their families, so we all went. They were serving Navy beans instead of black-eyed peas. Benny would have never allowed that!! We had cheeseburgers instead.

The soda machine was broken and so they had no drinks available. Not even water. In the old days, they would have comped us to the bar. No such luck. My brother-in-law and I walked across the street to the ABC store and bought cokes and brought them back.
