The trade-off advantage of 12 chips per page vs. 30 chips per page is weight. I find that the more chips on a page ... the more likely the 3-ring pages will tear out of the binder due to sheer weight.

Also, I find that the 30 chips to a page format is very difficult to remove a chip from its individual pocket. Also, the larger 2 1/2" cardboard holder provides ample space for writing information ... such as catalog number, price paid, date issued, etc.

Janice O'Neal used to have a neat way of displaying her slot tokens into 3-ring pages. If you think chips are heavy ... try weighing a page of $1 slot tokens. Janice used to (and maybe still does) insert a matchbook cover from the same casino in the pocket next to each slot token. The result was a very attractive, colorful page that didn't pull out of the binder, where tokens after tokens didn't look all the same ... plus each page only weighed half as much as if filled entirely with just tokens.
