Could it be....

a) That GNL management realized that the chips were more valuable as a collectors item then being used as a gambling instrument so they pulled their use all together.

b) The cost to replace the amount of chips that were pilfered (Not used on the gaming table) exceeded the actually amount of chips which were in play so they pulled their use all together instead of having new chips manufactured by Paul-Son.

c) GNL Corporation (Golden Nugget Laughlin's legal business & casino licensee name) has to pay a licensing fee and residuals on anything with the Tarzan's name and trademark on it to Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. the owner of the Tarzan's name and trademark and if their licensing agreement was not renewed legally GNL would be required to pull the chips from circulation. If this is the case then does anyone know if the chips that were still in GNL's possession were they returned to the manufacturer for destruction or are they still in a casino vault??
