I have an auction running for the $5 chip from this casino. One of the potential buyers asked me where it was. I don't know... So I did a web search and found this. Closed or Open? New leadership? Interesting. I wonder if this would also mean new chips?

A second appointed council has controlled the facility since March. Federal officials closed the casino in May until the leadership struggle was resolved.

Witnesses said a private security company entered the casino around 6 a.m. They were later escorted out by U.S. Marshals.

Elected council officials said they are contacting federal authorities to start the process of reopening the casino.

Appointed council officials said the dispute is far from over and the move to retake the casino is illegal and a clear violation of the will of the Meskwaki people.

The elected council is asking former casino employees to start re-applying for their jobs.

Tuesday, Federal officials approved a Meskwaki election plan that would put a new tribal council in office by November and lay the groundwork for reopening the tribe's lucrative casino in Tama.
