Gaming in Oklahoma

As most of you know gaming in Oklahoma has been reduced again to Bingo and Bingo Type Slots. No chips at all. sad

Well at our monthly poker game the other night I was able to have a discussion with the uncle of my wife. He is currently in charge of the expansion project of the Cherokee Casino in Catoosa for the Cherokee Tribe and has a pretty good ear on tribal politics. From what he told me is that basically the Cherokees have a compact in place to go into effect shortly after the first of the year. This compact will open up table games again, to include blackjack and POKER. vbg

Great news! My two favorite things poker and chips.

I'll keep everyone abreast of any changes and I'll post some pics of the current status of the expansion. Looks really cool, going from a basic bingo hall to a hotel resort with golf course and casino. The grand opening is set for Spring of 04. I have discussed the casino management the possibility of a GO chip. We'll just have to wait and see.
