Galante's S&H gouging
In Response To: Re: Chip price help - AC ()

That's incredibly arrogant, especially coming from a would-be seller of chips. Didn't you read my response to your "explanation" in the other thread? You are clearly not winning any friends and new customers on this board, and your customer-service policy of screwing bidders on anything they don't ask about is ridiculous.

There was nothing in your lot description that indicated you did not intend to combine postage, so "actually reading the auction" would not have helped. As for asking the seller any questions, you have consistently failed to answer my questions: exactly what is it about combined shipping that is "unfair" to other bidders, and exactly what happened to the extra shipping and handling money you pocketed?

You're a would-be seller, and I am a dissatisifed customer. I can leave you negative feedbacks for each of the nine lots you gouged me on, and each one will count against you. With most chip dealers on eBay having positive feedback ratings up around 96% to 98%, yours would be a noticeably low 76% - with all nine negative feedbacks up front, which might damage your hopes for any weekend sales.

On the other hand, I only use eBay for purchases. I have several hundred positive feedbacks, and nine negative retaliations from you would put me down to only about 98% positive. You can leave retaliatory negative feedback, but I really don't care - the point is you don't have any case. I can say I paid the exorbitant shipping fees to keep my end of the bargain, but you pocketed the unused shipping and handling and applied it to what should have been the cost of the item, not the cost of the shipping and handling. Your only complaint is that you were called to the carpet for gouging on shipping.

You're in a tough position now: Suppose before I put a minimum bid on two of your lots, I send you an email asking whether you will combine postage, and if not, why not? If you don't answer, you're stuck (and have no basis for complaint for the previous failed transaction), and if you do answer, you'd be admitting you are in violation of eBay's fee avoidance policies - and I *will* report that to eBay.

Either way, this is a curiously bizarre customer service strategy. Why not just take care of the current complaint, instead of risking your future as a would-be chip seller?

This is your last chance: please send me a $10 refund today, Friday, Oct. 24, for unused shipping and handling costs on your nine lots from last week, or read the feedback tomorrow.
