Old Hotel Curacao Intl Matchbook

Found this unusual photo matchcover recently. Comes from the first casino to open on Curacao. 1950 to 1970 according to Ralph Pollack's chip reference. Fun to see the formal attire that was customary in the nicer Caribbean hotels and casinos in the 50's and early 60's. Of course, even Las Vegas dress was formal in many cases in the earlier days.

Is that a handshake or a tip to the dealer from the gentlemen on the right? Not an accepted way to tip in casinos today... "put it on the table, please". Of course, many things were accepted in the early days in the Caribbean that wouldn't go well today in the corporate-owned casinos.
