Re: Why the 5 Minute Rule IS a good idea

As I said earlier.

In the beginning it will seem like a great idea.

Chip auction prices will climb dramatically. That much is most likely certain.

However, you will see a lot more auctions start going for well beyond their true value.

That will begin to have an adverse impact or the market.

Less people will become collectors because of the high prices will keep many chips out of reach.

How many current $1 chip do you think newbie collectors will be able to buy at $4 a pop. Not many. Many newbies will just not become collectors at all.

Just like the stock market the chip market will hit a bubble stage. Prices will become so inflated that demand will begin to decrease rapidly.

Then the bubble will burst. Prices will drop through the floor.

Many collectors that thought they were getting good deals will find that there collections are worth far less than what they paid for them.

Newbies will have collections that will be almost worthless.

You will see a lot of people giving up on collecting all together

There will be a mass fire sale. And the market will be glutted with tons of chips.

This will drive prices even lower than they are now.
