There is a MUST DO in Elko. Besides 2 or 3 nice little casinos there is a Basque Restaurant in the STAR HOTEL in downtown Elko. It is just a block or two behind the Stockmen's Hotel and Casino. Although I am definitely not a connoisseur of "fine dining", I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and this is still one of my absolute favorites. Go there with a BIG appetite. Dinner is served 'family style' and it is WONDERFUL! In Wendover, the Red Garter is an 'old timey', 'western' casino with very interesting atmosphere and some nice Silver Strikes. Just typing this makes me envious of your trip. Enjoy! Doug
