Go early in the morning, and ASK NICELY
In Response To: BUT... BUYING LUXOR CHIPS ()

I have bought a rack twice during the convention. The trick is to go before 9:00 a.m. and be pleasant to them (no matter what they say). Tell them why you’re buying them to check the UV markings and you will bring back the extras. Give the cage person a nice tip when you’re done and say thank you!

What ever you do, don’t tick them off; you may never get a chance of ever buy chips from them again. You would be surprised of the number of cage people I have talked to over the years who hate collectors because of their "attitudes".

Here's a wonderful story about what happened to me in June of this year.

Wednesday before the club dinner, some SOB when into the Opera House and bought a bunch of chips from Opera House. My understanding (from the cage person)he bought a huge amount of chips. He then when out to his car, took the ones he wanted and cashed the rest back in.

That person did a fine job of mixing up the remaining chips which later made it difficult for the Opera House to find chips for the other collectors who when to the Opera House later that day to buy chips. And boy were they thrilled to see any other collectors that day!

I would really like to know who he is and personally thank him for making my life and any other’s life difficult that day.
