My Recent Find of Rare Chips - The Story Unfolds

I recently posted pictures of a number of chips from a recent find of some rare chips. Here is the story of how I got the chips.

Many months ago, I noticed a mirror up for auction on eBay. The mirror is round and there were a number of casino chips and tokens glued to the edge of the mirror as a decoration. The scan did not show any detail of the chips. I thought I could identify a couple of the chips from Puerto Rico. I was the high bidder on the auction, but did not reach the reserve price. I emailed the seller and expressed my interest in the mirror. It turns out the seller was selling the mirror for someone else. It took forever, months, to get a reply to any of my messages. At one point a just dropped the issue, the deal was dead. The seller was just not interested. Suddenly I was getting replies and a deal was made. Several days latter UPS delivered the mirror. Imagine my surprise when I got my first look at the mirror ...

Many of the chips just came off the mirror with a little push. Some required a little more effort. I put the mirror in my freezer, thinking that it would make the glue more brittle, and was able to get all the remaining chips off using just my fingers, except for the two London Playboy chips. It took some more effort but careful use of a sharp blade did the job without any damage to the chips. I was not able to get a single token off the mirror using these methods, any ideas are welcome.

And now for the bad news. A couple of the chips had glue damage on the side facing the mirror. But for the most part, the glue either didn't stick to the chip or was easily peeled off without any damage. Several chips were in mint condition on the side facing the mirror, the protected side, and noticeably faded on the exposed side. Does anyone know a way to restore the original color on the faded side?

All in all this was a great acquisition for me, and the fact that I had to work a great deal to recover the chips, only made it better.
